KATEALLEN - Keto recommendations for everyone here are -
calories 1800, Carbs 20g and protein 60 g Fats fluctuate with your personal macros.

Keto does not work if you are eating at a deficit. You need calories to keep your hair & nails healthy. Also you will lose weight better if youa re eating 1800 calories.

I'd go with the first estimation.

It is said over and over again on this site - to be sure you eat at least 1800 calories per day!

Why not ask Holly to get the correct numbers for you? She helped me with it.......

Seems like I saw this basic type of question answered elsewhere on SparkPeople, years ago (before I was ever on this team)...

I'm thinking that the lower number is (hopefully) keyed to your true goal weight ...and so, one s should target those lower numbers. The 1800 calories, in your case, would be like to maintain your present weight?? or is what calories you would need at a lower weight but higher level of exercise? (depending on how the test was set up, I guess, since I wasn't there, I really don't know. But usually those types of tests want to know your current weight, and then it is doing some calculations to figure out what your goal weight "should" be, if there isn't a way for you to tell it what you want your goal weight is.).

It is confusing though!!

In order to participate in the September challenge, I went to the suggested calculator, plugged in my age, ht, wt, and activity level and received my estimated energy expenditure per day as well as the number of grams of carbs, protien, and fat I should consume to maintain my weight. That calculator suggested my TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is 1800.

I also noticed that among the SP Reports is one called "Calorie Differential over time" which estimates my BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) at 2200 kcal per day.

And to confuse matters more, I just received the results from a body composition test (BodPod) that estimated my RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) at 1390 kcal per day.

Which of these numbers should I trust most? I think the answer makes a difference to the number of grams of fat I should consume daily.
