Will try 1500-1600 calories Allergic to gluten,dairy,eggs,pork,high acid foods, shellfish,tofu, many kinds of nuts. I am also on blood thinners because of clots in both lungs & need the exact same amount of vitamin K daily to work. Also allergic to the many chemicals in artificial packaged foods. I also have mild chronic kidney disease , so hard to figure what to eat. I eat at home a lot with my difficult diet menu plan.
Found some recipes, bought a gluten free cookbook for $3.00 on sale & a few other cookbooks I can use as well.
Grocery list? I have bought many healthy packaged real foods i can eat, at the last moment I will buy fresh food. I have enough to start with.

I am currently look for an eating plan. I am trying to stay on low fat. I am looking into the dash diet. tonight I am going into the local library site to order books about it.

I need to make menus. It makes it so much easier when mealtime comes.

I don't follow any special diet plan. For me all foods are allowed in moderation. Some of my issues arise when I have not planned ahead and/or when I just can't seem to come up with a meal idea that sounds good. We have probably all said it "I just can't think of what to make for dinner"! The links you shared should be VERY helpful for me when these circumstances arise. Just hope I can find them when I go to look for them.

The video of the guy who helped his little brother was very touching. Wish someone would come to my house and fix all of my food for me for 2 weeks emoticon . Since that isn't going to happen I will settle for getting rid of the last few items of tempting foods I have in my cupboards.

Do you know what diet you will follow? Yes. Atkins. Lost 37 pounds on it in 2011 and now they let me eat more carbs. I love the food and have recipes I used then, joined their website again and have access to all of their recipes. Actually have been on Atkins for the last 4 weeks and have lost 7.4 pounds already and am loving every meal! Talk about motivation!

Grocery list? I change up what I get. I know what is allowed and not in Phase I, as well as the other Phases.

Did you clean up your kitchen? No my DH is a junk food junkie and he eats what he pleases, as he did in 2011. I am not tempted at all after the third day (when my carb cravings are gone) and that was weeks ago. Held a melting candy bar for my youngest granddaughter to eat at the football field in the sweltering heat as it melted onto my hands a week ago last Saturday and wasn't in the least bit tempted to lick my fingers when she finished. I washed my hands. No of THAT I am PROUD!

I plan to eat healthy food, as usual. I need to eat less and exercise more. Adding more vegetables and fruit to my diet will help.
Counting calories helps me balance my intake and exercise and see if I am getting a well balanced diet.
I like to cook and I like a variety of food.
Tomorrow, I will clean out my fridge.


There are so many fun ways to exercise, don't waste time on the other ones. Enjoy healthy, good food and skip the rest.

Yes moderation, portion control and tracking. Following this lifestyle is helping me to lose at a slow and steady pace.

Found some recipes?

Yes. I need to punch up my freggie consumption so mostly I have been concentrating on vegetable recipes. There are some good ones on the spark recipe app.

Grocery list?

Yes. If I don't shop with a list I end up with things I don't need and miss some of the items I came to the store to eat.

Shop?

Yes. On a weekly basis since I am trying to eat less processed food. I shop for vegetables and fruit a couple of times a week.

Do you have the food on hand to get started?

Yes. I always have frozen fresh veggies on hand (like the pic fresh brand) and I batch cook over the weekend so I am ready to have healthy meals for the coming week.

Have you followed this diet before?

Yes. When I rejoined sparkpeople in 2016, I decided to never diet again. So over these 18 months I have changed my mindset and created a healthy lifestyle with food and exercise that I can sustain. Not just while losing, but also to keep the weight off,

Not fond of the word diet, but will be tracking with spark people

Eating primarily vegetarian/vegan

Working on stopping when no longer hungry; especially nighttime/after dinner eating.

Shopping is done this week. We plan meals that can be eaten for a couple of days, tonight it was eggplant & chickpea stew in the pressure cooker.

Kitchen is getting there! Broken ankle has kept me from doing as much cleaning as I'd like.

My plan is to watch portions more closely. Add more fruits and vegetables. Eat more protein. I am often low in that. Get at least 8 glasses of water every day. And track every meal every day.

Diet plan? Nothing "sold" - just common sense.

Measure a "serving" of foods.
Drink water, no sodas or sweet tea.
Plan ahead for menus and pack a lunch.
Replace junk foods in house with fruits/veggies and whole grains as they are gone.

I am trying to eat clean, but I will not be perfect. I always eat a lot of fruits and veggies anyway, but I need to stay away from potato chips (that is my downfall)

I am going no sugar and nothing deep fried. This should be simple and straight forward and it has worked in the past.

I will track my food daily and stay within calorie range suggested by SparkPeople.
Eat at least 5 servings of fruits/veggies
Keep my Blood Sugar within the limits set by my doctor by eating lower carb, but whole grains and fruit/veggies.
Eat at least 2 fish/seafood dinners a week.

I will continue to eat between 1200 to 1500 calories daily and exercise at least 30 minutes daily with strength exercises also. Some of my videos have strength and cardio mixed.I will check each day to make sure I get the percentages recommended by SP.

I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing; low carb/keto.
I have tons of recipes!
Every week I have a pre-printed grocery list with check boxes for what I need.
My home is well stocked; probably overly so in some areas.
I have everything I need to keep on keeping on during the challenge.
I've been low carb for almost 2 years now but recently amped up to keto.
My kitchen has always been clean. It had to be or I'd be in trouble emoticon

Portion control has to be my mantra.
Living and sharing with an 86 yr old it's more important to have things she'll eat, than are they the healthiest choice. Having said that she cooks the same way she always has all her married life. Bear in mind she was a fifties bride and we still had rationing over here everything is relatively healthy and usually fits into the carb/fat/protein ratios pretty much.
Problem is more that if it's on the plate I eat it. ALL OF IT.
I need to be strict with myself on portion size
Stricter on the snacks, sweets and biscuits.
If we went more strictly with the 1950's regime
Cakes and candy were for weekends only. Now there's a thought.

STRESS EATING IS MY BOGEY.
I am working on that one

Do you know what diet you will follow? I will stick with my SP tracking.
Found some recipes? I love the SP recipes. I use them all the time.
Grocery list? I always have a running list, and usually cook healthy meals.
Shop? I usually shop weekly, and plan my meals ahead of time.
Do you have the food on hand to get started? My kitchen is normally stocked with healthy choices, so not much to do there.

Do you know what diet you will follow? I will continue to follow th SP tracker and stay within 1200-1500 calories a day. I will be sure to get the right amount of carbs, fats, protein, fiber and sodium.

Found some recipes? I tend to try new recipes all the time. I love the SP recipe bank although I hardly ever follow a recipe exactly. My husband tells others, she never cooks anything the same way.

Grocery list? I have a basic list that keeps all the staples I need to stay on my food plan. I add what's on sale and also what I'd like to try.

emoticon except I should organize my recipes a bit better - on my to-do list.

I've been on a doc prescribed gluten-free, sugar-free, low sodium diet for several years now. My main focus this round will be portion sizes. My goal is to cut them 30-50%. I've already started and today the scales noticed! :)

Do you know what diet you will follow? Yes. I will be tracking my food through spark people. I am done with denying myself foods I enjoy because when I do I then over indulge so I will just make sure they are with in my calorie limits for the day and enjoy!

Found some recipes? I love new recipes!

Grocery list? I don't usually have a list unless it's something I don't want to forget. Lots of fruits and lots of veggies in our house hold

Shop? The whole family live to go to the store. We all have a say in what we eat

Do you have the food on hand to get started?always.

Have you followed this diet before? I fail at diets so I'm just going to eat the best I can and have treats when I am able to.

Did you clean up your kitchen? With 2 toddlers the kitchen is a constant state of disaster

Do you know what diet you will follow? I am not following any specific diet - eat in moderation but add more protein to my day.

Found some recipes? Love Spark Recipes - wish we could eat more so I could make more.

Grocery list? I do have an ongoing list posted on the refrigerator.

Shop? I am trying to make a plan for a grocery shopping day - maybe it will be Mondays.

Do you have the food on hand to get started? I do have enough food on hand right now, but need to get some more fresh vegetables soon.

Have you followed this diet before? I am unable to 'follow' a diet. I need to eat what I need to eat, but I do that in moderation.

It’s time to decide what diet if any you will stick to for 8 weeks. There are many to choose from - Spark, South Beach, Weight Watchers, American Heart Association, Diabetes Diet, Dr. Oz, Mayo Clinic, Mediterranean Diet, USDA Diet, Canada Food Guide, Dukan, Paleo, The Full Plate Diet or whatever else you choose. Everyone is different and you need to have a plan that works for you, with food that you like. Browse online or at the library for new recipes and have them ready. Regardless of the plan you choose follow the set of standard guidelines recommended by the plan.

Know what you will commit to for 8 weeks of the challenge and have your fridge and pantry ready with what you need. Find the measuring cups and food scale and have them handy. Declutter your counter, clean the fridge and be ready to make nutritious meals. Go through the kitchen and if there is food you should not eat make a donation to the food bank, and throw out the junk food. If it’s not in the house you won’t eat it.
