Welcome to the San Antonio SPICE Challenge! I want to give everyone time to sign up so I am laying the challenge out there a week in advance so everyone so everyone can have time to read it and decide.

This challenge officially starts on SUNDAY, the 31st of October and will run until JANUARY 1st, 2011. The goal of this challenge is to keep you on track and LOSING weight over the tempting holidays! Remember that you don't have to avoid foods you love, you just have enjoy them in moderation this season!

So, what IS the SPICE Challenge?

S-- sparkpoints-- 50 sparkpoints PER DAY
P-- pounds-- weigh in weekly and keep track of weight a la "Biggest Loser"
I-- inches-- measure on the first of each month

Don't worry-- you won't be doing this alone! You will be split into teams and given a Team Leader to help you stay on track and answer any questions you might have!

At the end of this challenge, there will be lots of rewards to be given out-- from most weight lost to most fitness minutes accrued.

Decide quickly and invite as many members as you can to come participate with us! This challenge closes to new members on OCTOBER 31st. We will not be able to give you a team if you sign up after that date.

S-- sparkpoints-- 50 sparkpoints PER DAY:
------ There are A LOT of ways to get SparkPoints. Logging fitness minutes, goals met and food eaten is the fastest way to gain SparkPoints-- you can get 39 points from that alone. Replying to messages on the team and drinking your water are also really great ways to get SparkPoints daily.

P-- pounds-- weigh in weekly and keep track of weight a la "Biggest Loser":
------Just like in the show, this will be determined by percentage to be fair.

I-- inches-- measure on the first of each month:
------ Like pounds, this will also be handled by percentage.

C-- calories-- stay in your calorie range 6 out of 7 days per week or more:
------ This is a goal each of us should really focus on during the holidays. Eating too many calories is easy to do this time of year so this part of the challenge is REALLY important.

E-- exercise-- burn at least **XXX calories per week and clock as many fitness minutes as possible:
------ As I said above, this part of the challenge will be figured individually based on historical data. We will figure it by looking at the past 2 weeks' fitness tracker total calories burned and taking an average of the two. That will be your minimum goal for each week. You can burn those calories all in one day or split it through the week, but you must burn your amount of calories or more each week. In this challenge, *exercise* is defined as anything you do SPECIFICALLY for the exercise. In this case, gardening, walking while shopping, or cleaning DO NOT count as exercise-- things like going for a walk, going to the gym, jogging, running, playing basketball or riding your bike DO count.
