Yes - Heather is right. We have a new accountability thread to continue our weekly WI's. However, I would like you to do your daily chat in our main Tell Us About Your Day thread. That way even those not weighing in will keep up with us. I will be closing this thread by the end of this week.

Thanks for hosting the challenge. I like the idea of a thread to track accountability. It is hard to stay on track.

Congrats to the losers. This was a big week.

Have a great day.

Thanks Sharon for your dedication to all of us. Thanks for the sister comment for we know through all the years we have gone up and down just like a merry-go-round.
We know that through all the years that we have known each other that it wasn't just pounds that kept us together. We have shared such wonderful times together.
We have great memories for sure.
I don't think that they are going to be over, for we have more time to make more fun times.

Sisterly love.........

Brenda: Thanks for the Goodie...I haven't received one of those in a long time.

Good idea, Tammy. I need the accountability right now. Saturday I didnít track my food at Disneyland; yesterday I did and ate much more sensibly. Today is our last day here ó tomorrow on to Santa Barbara. Tons of walking but no ST for 2 days.

Sharon, thank you for this challenge, and keeping the stats. I am really happy to be down 5 pounds.

Heather proved it is not impossible. Another lady that turned herself around is Tammy with her 3.2 lb loss. Way to go, girls! Now keep fighting those old habits.

As a group, we lost 19.3 lbs. So much better! I am so pleased with our commitment in the last week. It's easy to decide it's so close to the end, I might just as well throw in the towel.
We had a strong finish!

Before I list how you did individually over the 12 weeks of the challenge, I would like to say that SEK (Judy) stands alone in not having any gains during the challenge. Not an easy feat!

Four ladies exceeded the 5% Goal we were working for:
Sharon
Ruthann

Out of a possible 24 Bonus Points, 4 ladies got all 24 pts:

I am very proud to share the emoticon with my sister of another mother Ruthann!

She is my oldest Spark Friend and over the years we have lost weight (& gained weight) many times. I pray we are both losing for the last time!

Without you girls joining me in this challenge, I know I would not have lost my 5% as my motivation was in the toilet.

That being said we are approaching the Holiday Season which is the hardest time of the year for losing weight. My next few weeks until we arrive at our winter home will be busy but I am leaving you with the promise that we will have another challenge starting in early November to carry us through the Holidays. My advice is to not gain weight because you will get extra credit if you are at or below what you finished this challenge at.

So watch for your invite

Heather - isn't tomorrow the actual date of your Thanksgiving? You must be like us and celebrate the whole weekend. What are your special plans for the day?

We had a lot of fun with our little party last night. We didn't get to bed until after midnight! I can't remember when we partied the night away! We did sleep in 'til 9 am this morning!

Now I'm going to go start working on our final Summary report. I will be back later.

Had another loss. Didn't make my goal, but it was a good loss. I'm happy with it. I need to lose another few pounds before the new year, but am feeling pretty good about it.

So glad that most of us had a loss.

Congrats to those who made the 5% or more. It is a great goal and perhaps after the new year we can do it again. Hopefully then the amount we all need to lose will be less than this time.

I do feel like I'm making some good habits and am not as tempted by the goodies as I have been. Must be less stress at home, but could be some of the things I have done this time to feel better.

Have a great day.

Down 1.8#. I never thought I would make goal with the wt. I gained in the middle of the challenge. Another week of eating mostly 2 meals per day and eating lots of freggies. Got in 79,631 steps for the week as ankle/foot is doing a little better. FB counted all steps but didn't count time for 3 days in a row so only showed 394 mins. for the week.

Congrats to all who made their goals and for any who didn't, I'll quote my handicapped son's favorite saying - Tomorrow is a new day!

Sharon - Thanks for all the work you do on these challenges!

i posted my weight and I'm not happy with it. It was a real downer to see that I'm up 2# from last week.
The exercises that I do here at home don't come close to what I do when I go to the Y so I'm hoping to get back soon. Right now I can't with my back .

It looks like most of us showed a loss for the challenge I just wish mine would have been better. Some of you did GREAT.

I worked hard this week and considering all our restaurant meals, I managed to lose 2.6 lbs. I can never thank you girls enough for joining me in this 5% Challenge. My doctor should be very pleased because I lose over my 5% that he suggested. Now to keep it off until I go back for my appointment!

We have been invited over to our friends son's house for the evening today. We were in Branson and missed their wedding. They are excited to tell us all about their special day! The bride wrote and performed a rap song that they videoed and they are going to show us the video. Should be a fun evening and our last chance to spend time together before we leave.

Now we are headed off to restock my SlimFast Keto supplies, a stop for lunch at Subway and we have a new farm & fleet store that is having their Grand Opening Today (Blain's). It's the first one in our area and Norm has been watching them build it and is excited to go check it out.

Just recorded my weight and even though I struggled, I see that from the beginning of the challenge that I was just a little under 3% lost overall. Considering my struggles, I will be happy with that. A lot of my loss this week was from the diuretic, plus me eating at home a lot more. I was making good choices most of the time while either grabbing something/eating out, but the sodium was not my friend. I DO know everyone needs salt; I just think I am more susceptible to the possible blood pressure issues with it.

WELL.....just goes to show how right I am about me and BREAD! emoticon
As soon as I cut out the bread this week my weight started to drop! And now I have lost 6.2 lbs of that 7.6 I gained last week!

However! In the big picture~~~~ I am still 5.4 lbs over my starting weight and 9.6 lbs over my lowest weight back in May ( just before we started camping! emoticon )
So got work to be done to get all this moving again!

Mary emoticon on a nice loss this week! You are doing great girl....the secret to our success is to never give up! So emoticon

Judy.... emoticon on a loss as well. Will need to go look again but did you have ANY gains this challenge?
PS....went and checked! emoticon Judy! You had NO gains! emoticon

Yesterday I spent about 2.5 hours outside mulching my leaves with the lawn mower/ cutting back plants and shrubs and bagging them. Plus helped Alex put a few summer chairs etc... in the rafters ( Alex did super job cleaning the shed and re- organizing it for the winter emoticon ) while I was outside doing my thing!

Before....

After....

OH.... emoticon as you can see from the clothes line I also did about 6 loads of washing! Some went on the line ....some in the dryer.....

Before.....

After.....

Before....

After....

Put my orange lights out for Halloween in the garden....did not cut down the Sweet Williams that were still blooming....

Nor did I cut back my Hydrangea plant as it too is still blooming!

Good Morning to all!

I brought new batteries for my scale at home....and...had a loss. I am still up from where I started on this challenge...but lower than the last several weeks..and that shall be my focus. I...actually learned a lot this challenge...

I truly have to be mindful each and every day...every meal. I have to preplan my meals and have the items on hand. I make a full list of groceries and meals Saturday ..and shop Sunday am. I have to LOOK FORWARD to each meal...or..I can easily be side tracked. EASILY. I also have to have...ON HAND at ALL TIMES...snacks that i like...healthy..and semi healthy...or..I will go for the UNHEALTHY options. Yes...we all know this...but...I don't seem to do this...100%. I am trying to turn this around.

I also learned for fitness. I may feel ambitious...but the workouts..have to be doable....or..I won't do them. A certain fitness program may be popular...but out of my realm. Getting there..doesn't work for me. Some of these DVDS...are for ppl in their 30's. I am not. I am best with sticking to Jillian Michaels...yes..she is tough..but I can do them..and in time without the modifications. That is me. These popular ones..from beachbody..are...just not me....and that is okay. They may be for you...and that is great. There are so many out htere...find your niche.

I truly wish to thank you Sharon for this challenge. I do. I also wish to thank each and every one you.

THis is ending..but...finally ...my head is back in the game. ...but...wow...what a long road that took.

Wishing you all good one..and much success.

I also stepped on the scale this morning and I should have a loss tomorrow! I ate a bacon and cheese omelet this morning. My other two meals were a bar at 2pm and I'm drinking my hot coffee with Keto Shake right now instead of supper.

I wish everyone could weigh in with a loss but if you worked for it and come up short, I will understand. There are weeks that when you do everything right, you still don't lose. But, I'm still hoping for a NO GAIN WEEK! Good Luck to all the Challengers!

I've done my exercise this week (but should have done more). My will power is totally missing, Most days that have started out well but later on I've given in to eating.
We are going away in a weeks time, when we get back I need to do better.
I may not have lost but the challenge has kept me trying to be good.
thank you

I did stick to my plan yesterday. At the end of the day when the grands were gone, I went to a late supper with my DIL. We have occasional breaks from life. She loves Mexican so we had that.

It was nice to catch up and visit. I think I stayed in my calorie range.

Carol, hope you are safe.

Have a great day.

Posting and making yourself accountable is the main thing.
Weather we weigh in the night before or whatever. Your making yourself accountable.
It will usually add up for the next week that you need to weigh in again.

I hate to see this challenge end because of the holidays coming up. So I need to stay accountable.

Thanks Sharon for being so dedicated and keeping us all in line.

Everything is going good so far. . garner back construction guy finishing up. I may start home this afternoon. Later

emoticon Heather! Glad you had a good day, and the hiking pictures really say ďFallĒ to me. emoticon

I snuck a peek at my weight this morning because I had 2 pieces of veggie pizza last night, but it was practically my only food all day, and Iím on track for a loss as long as I stick to my plan today. I had an upset stomach yesterday morning so decided to just drink water.

emoticon for me~~Getting back to normal~
Only had 1050 calories for the day today ( and NO bread! ) plus got over 8300 steps with my hike in the woods!

Posted some hike pictures on the daily thread~~~

Tammy....sorry to hear that your B/P required you to go back on your meds again. Alex gets a colonoscopy every 5 years because his Mom had colon cancer at age 60 and ended up with a colostomy ( she only died this past Spring at the age of 96 )

Here in Canada....as long as there is not history of colon cancer in your family and therefore you are not booked for regular colonoscopies like Alex.....you can do a very very simple test that you receive in the mail...do at home ( takes 2 minutes ) and you mail it back out in packaging that they send with the test tube. I have had two of these done with negative results.
It is nice peace of mind to have this ~~they send reports back to me and my Doctor.

Sharon~~You did well with your eating as well today I see~ ~~ emoticon

WG~~YOU too did good today! emoticon

Peggy...Mary is a lucky lady to have you~~ emoticon

Arlene~~You take care of yourself. Gald your Doctor is careful and thorough! emoticon

Carol~~weird hearing about snow~~even in Canada...places that do not normally get snow especially in Sept/Oct~! are getting blizzards! For some reason here where I live we have not got any yet. Not even flurries!~~

TC~~Glad to hear your iron levels stayed normal. BUT even with mild anemia you should probably not give your blood away~~ Once I hit 40 I stopped giving blood~~figured I needed it as much as anyone else. But was willing to go for emergency shortages. Just did not go regular anymore. In Canada they check your Hgb and if there is any low reading at all they refuse you~~tell you to go see your Doctor~~

Ruthann~~I have done that~~Posted between challenges to keep myself in check!~~ You are doing well and using the operation as it should be used~~as a tool. If you never learn how to eat healthy~~( which you have ) your operation is useless in the end! emoticon emoticon

Good Evening!

At coffee this morning I chose to take my meal replacement bar and avoid the doughnuts and cookies. For lunch we ate at Applebee's where I ate the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp with broccoli. It was good and I still am fill. I will drink a shake later if I get hungry but my body is adjusting to my one meal a day and the good news is I rarely feel hunger! And as you know , there is a big difference between appetite and hunger. I just have to not give in because I know it will taste good.

WG - I am not one to fill in my tracker before I eat. I have tried but my schedule changes and I never stick to my plan. I try to figure my calories before I eat though as sometimes I have been way more than I thought.

Peggy - sounds like a nice visit with Mary today. You will never regret these visits.

Arlene - I am glad your doctor is being careful with your problems and keeping you on antibiotics. Hopefully, the lancing will relieve the pressure.

Carol - Yikes! It seems too early for blizzard conditions. I am sorry! I hope we get out of MI without snow.

TC - I hope your appointment today. is helpful for you. Why did you have to go to a hematologist?

Ruthann - I am so proud of how you are dealing with your surgery and follow up. You are doing everything right. Of course, you will continue posting after the challenge is over. We need to stay focused, all of us!

Heather - I am kind of sad to see you bring your camper home as that means Winter is rapidly coming. It's a good thing you like snow as you will probably gets lots of shoveling in this winter.

Tammy - I am sorry you had to go back on meds. You lost before and got off them. You can and will do it again! How is Joe doing with the kidney stone?

Hi everyone. It has been a mixed week for me. I have been eating more munchy foods instead of the good stuff and I pay for that dearly. The calorie density is so much more and I find that I also retain more water. I'm doing well so I need to continue.

I did bypass the treats at the "books and grandparents" at the elementary. I have four grands going there but the others ate with their other grandmother. Cinderella and I enjoyed visiting while she ate her doughnut. I didn't even feel bad that I didn't partake.

Ruthann, I agree that it is a tool, but so many people find ways to "play the system" and eat in other ways. i know I've told the story of a patient who had the "lap band" done and was taking 2-3 hours eating each meal but she got them all down. She had lost 8 pounds in almost a year. I'm sure it would have worked better if she had followed the plan and ate for a limited amount of time.

Keep posting somewhere. It is good to be accountable and that is what we are here for is to be accountable and support others in their accountability.

Heather, so glad you have the trailer home. Your photos look great. it is so good to get back into the rhythm. Enjoy your hike.

TC, hope your hematology appointment goes well and you get the information you need to feel better. I understand your need to hit fast food places. I do that way too often. There are a lot on the main route to my home and it is often hard when I'm hungry to pass them by. So much easier to get something quick and not worry about fixing food at home.

Peggy, it is so good for you to spend time with Mary. Even though you don't always get conversation, you will never regret the time you spend with her.

Arlene, hope you heal quickly and feel better. Infections can make us feel bad even though they are in one place.

Carol, I feel for you. This is early in the year for snow and cold. We broke all sorts of records for cold this week. It is hard to adjust when a month ago it was near 100 degrees. It is very hard for the kids to stop wearing summer clothes and start wearing winter things.

Tammy, so glad you are eating better. It is so hard at times to do it when there is so much going on and your energy is spent caring for others instead of yourself.

I've been eating my prepped foods but, as I said, yesterday was hard. Today is Princess P's birthday and she will want treats. I think we are going to get some fast food after school as her dad has to stay later at work today. We might hit the nearby cookie store as well. I have decided that today I will not get a cookie even though I love them and would enjoy one very much. I want to be successful and will choose today to be successful in this way.

One of the things I learned from the Bright Line Eating book is the principle of limited decision making energy. This means that if you make a decision to eat certain foods or at certain times today, you are less likely to make an impulsive choice.

It bothered me that many of you will log your intake the night before or in the morning. This is not being over confident but just making your choices for the day. Having made the choices, it is easier to decide not to add other foods as you know what your calorie intake is to be and don't want to go over. The author says that choosing before decreases the number of decisions and reduces the chances of impulsive eating.

Just my two cents worth. It is something that I'm working on this week.

Have a great day.

I went to the Archives this morning and then I stopped at the Orchards to pick up some apples so that I can make some apple pie.

Then I came over to Mary's and now she is sleeping so I went out to the car and got my computer.

Jennifer is stopping over about 1:30 and I'll go home about 2 or 2:30.

I put a roast chicken in the crockpot this morning so it should be smelling good when I get home.

Well I saw the doc this morning and he removed the one issue but the 2nd he just lanced as it still has some inflamation so I have to continue the antibiotics and he'll check it all next week. I was very impressed with how careful and thorough he is.

Ruthann - I'm glad you realize it's only a tool too many of my friends thought it was a miracle procedure and they didn't have to do anything and they reaped the results from their efforts.

Carol - well so far the weather isn't too bad but they so there's more to come. And I think since what we have is slushy when it freezes it cold be a mess.

TC, yes, it is blizzarding. The temps are in the low 30s, just cold enough to make this snow instead of rain. Tennis and soccer HS tournaments have to be moved or postponed. Bob's TX relatives were supposed to come up for the re-interment of one of his uncles on Friday. I hope they've been watching the weather. That is so not happening tomorrow. I doubt that the Veterans Cemetery (10 miles south of town) will even have the roads plowed or the site prepared.

TC, I must have missed something or spaced it out - why do you have to see a hematologist? I hope you find answers you can use to feel better.

Heather, I was going to bring in my last pot of geraniums, but looking at it on our deck, I don't think it'll live. Covered in snow now. Our Mountain Ash tree is really pretty in green leaves, orange berries and white snow. At least the birds will have something to eat till the snow melts.

Ruthann, you are so right about the "tool". I've seen people who don't use the surgery as just that, gain everything back. Or make themselves sick not eating the right things. It takes a lot of smarts and dedication to do what you're doing. You go, girl! emoticon

I have a long list of chores I can do inside today and tomorrow, so I'll get with it. I feel like I'll be down a bit for our last challenge weigh in.

Tammy, I am sorry you are still having difficulties in your life. It is not fun getting scared at the doc's office but it can help us reset our minds. Ego tries to take over spirit and that does not work well for me. Hopefully you can get a tiny bit of weight off or be more active or change diet to help that B/P come back down That is the good part. We can usually change SOMETHING that helps our health. We have choices. My choice is to avoid fast food since it is calling my name BIG time lately.

Carol, A BLIZZARD ??!! Al ready ! Gawd I hope not. I have been grumbling about the 60's and 40's we are having since the heat in my van is working so poorly. I need a new van but I do not want payments... LOL !! I know the canning and freeze drying is hard work but it is so nice you have enough to do that.

Heather, nice that you have the trailer back in it's place for winter. Now back to chores, eh ? Your tree is beautiful.

Sharon, I hope your birthday was as fun as it sounded and that you & Norm have many more.

Well, I see hematologist today and hopefully get good news. Labs were drawn Monday.

Ruthann, feel free to post as much as you want especially if it is helping !! Your doc is so right about the surgery being a tool only. I have seen way too many people slowly gain back all their weight. It is a constant journey/ fight. If you quit being proactive, you gain and lose health. Keep fighting GF !

I am glad that I joined this challenge and I would like to keep posting for it keeps me on my toes. So if you see me posting too much about my progress or not a progress you can ignore me or jump on. I am seeing that these post have helped the serious people who want to lose weight. I know I had surgery but it is tough to not eat and try to get enough foods and the right foods to make it work. My doctor told me that this surgery is only a tool. It will help me if I want it to work.
Everyone have a great day and prep for your week end. Cheers!

We are back at home trailer in tow with us this time~~~

Although I have lots of work for the leaves and the garden to do....

.......I was amazed at how some of my flowers are hanging in there with very little tending to by us because we are away so much~~~~

And my Rowen Tree looks beautiful with it's now yellow leaves and red berries~~~~

Have had a very bad couple of weeks of * pigging out * big time! Time to get ourselves back into our WOE and start moving more as well.
Going for a mountain hike with friends in their wood lot tomorrow afternoon.
Think I am going to feel these extra pounds! Hope so! It might be just what I need to get me motivated again! emoticon

Have not cleaned much out of the trailer....will work on that in my own pace ( BUT before the snow arrives emoticon )

Yep, it's starting to precipitate. I don't know what to call it, it's like falling fog droplets? Bob went out to get groceries since the prediction is for a blizzard. The front does seem like it's slow, so maybe Sharon, you'll luck out.

I had my yoga class this morning and am trying harder to maintain my 8 hour eating window. My walk yesterday was 50 minutes in the sunshine and soft breeze. People were having their underground sprinkler systems blown out and doing other chores in preparation for the weather we're supposed to get. Arlene, Bismarck is supposed to get the most snow. I hope Minot is spared.

Bob went for groceries, just in case. All this is supposed to melt next week and if it does, I'll finish cleaning out the flower gardens. If my remaining flowers get dumped on, they won't be pretty anymore anyway.

I'm sorta jealous of you Snowbirds and Winter Texans today.

Whew! I sure had a plethora of eating out the last couple of days! At least I intend to eat all my meals at home today! I started the day with my Meal Replacement Bar and coffee.

We also still have blooms on some of our plants. Norm is waiting for our yard waste dumpster that will be here later in the month to finish up our yard for the winter.

Peggy - it is so nice that someone goes over to Mary's every day. We used to do that with my grandmother.

We were granted another beautiful day today. The weather was supposed to turn today but evidently the cold front has slowed down. Now they say tomorrow will also be nice but when it turns bad by the weekend, we will no longer see temps in the 60's probably until spring!

Carol I'm the same way about my flowers. Some look just to nice yet and my sure we'll have a couple of days yet later if I decide I want to pull more. My snapdragons will probably stay through the winter since they'll continue their "show"even in the snow. My problem now is to cover the ground so the neighborhood cats don't use them as their personal bathrooms. And they are not all ferals.

Good morning!!

We're getting ready to go out for our walk and then after awhile I'm going over to Mary's and then to visit my friend Beverly. Bev and her 3 sisters are leaving tomorrow for a getaway at Lake George.

Jennifer is going over later in the day to stay with Mary since her cousin Lee Ann is in California and that is her usual time.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi, All:

Sharon, I'm sorry I missed your birthday. It sounds like you had a great day, and you deserve many many great days for all your work and cheerleading! emoticon emoticon

It's a beautiful day today, apparently the last one we'll have for a while. We'll get what Sharon's going to get in a couple of days. I have some more flower garden cleanup to do, but I refuse to clear out flowers that are still blooming. DH and I are waiting for a hard freeze to pick apples, they're always sweeter when we wait to pick till then. Then, oh goody, I'll have more canning and drying to do. Bob loves to grow, but Carol has never been too jazzed about the follow-up, and I do all that out of a sense of guilt for not making good use of what God has helped grow.

It's a good day for a walk, no wind, unlike the 25 mph wind I walked in on Sunday.

Morning!
We are about ready to leave for my Classmate breakfast. Last one before leaving for the winter! Then back for our Soup/Salad luncheon in the clubhouse. I am making Chicken Noodle soup with lots of veggies and not too many noodles!

Today is our last sunny, nice day before the rain and wind move in. In fact, they said we may see snow by the weekend!

Good morning, it was raining so we went shopping instead. Home and the groceries are away.

Now I am leaving to go shopping with Kathy and we are stopping at WW's so that I can weigh in.

Then we are going to breakfast.

Jodi, Dave and Adin are coming down for lasagna after Adin's practice. Of course he will probably eat his supper in the car on the way here and then have pasta and butter when he gets here. He doesn't like sauce so he has butter on his.

Hi everyone. Did my meal prep today. I had bought some fresh veggies and my chicken was less than half what I paid a week ago. I got that cooked in individual portions. That way I have a meal I can put together without much thought and I'm much happier.

I'm down another pound so hopefully this will continue to work. I always feel better when I weigh less. The problem is that food tastes so good. I guess I'll have to learn to not be food driven.

Happy Birthday Sharon. I am glad your day was a good one.

Good Evening!
I sure had a good day today! Thanks to everyone for thinking of me and sending Birthday wishes! We got up and went to Denny's for breakfast. I got a Original Grand Slam FREE for my birthday. Then around 4 we went to our favorite restaurant, Crazy Horse where they take your age as your discount. I thought about ordering a rib eye steak but chose a smothered chicken breast instead. I had her bring a take home container before I ate. I was proud of my choices until she set a hot fudge sundae in front of me! I didn't know I got that free. I had her bring another spoon and let Norm eat most of it.

All I can say is I am glad it's. only Monday so I have most of the week to redeem myself.

Hi, team. Sorry about being MIA on Saturday. I was sorting through some "stuff" after a doctor's annual visit on Friday morning. I needed to take a good look at what I've been doing and get my head on straight about some physical/emotional symptoms that I have been having. I believe I at least have my head attached at my neck now emoticon .

Something interesting that I will share about that doctor's appointment - the power went out to the entire building right after the dr said that it was time for my colonoscopy. LOL It's like the universe just stepped in. LOL The dr went ahead and completed my well check as much as could be done without power. She will send me lab results in the mail as they weren't available. She saw enough to know that my blood pressure has been creeping up each of the past three years. emoticon I am going back on the blood pressure meds that I used to take up until about five years ago. It contained a diuretic and I am NOT happy about that at all, but it is necessary with my family cardio and kidney history.

So there it is...a bit of my story for being MIA. Thanks for your understanding.

Ok I had a loss yesterday but this morning I'm up. Yikes! I'm wondering if the med the Dr gave the other day may have something to do with it.

Well today is the day to get all the outside stuff done. Darrell says they're forcasting some really nasty weather for later this week.

I'm happy for all that came up with a loss and for those who stumbled a bit keep your chins up and tackle again this week.

I also want to give credit to Peggy and Joyce who lost 2.2 lbs each!

So many of us did not have a very good week! However, we are not in the red! As a group we lost .9 lbs. Yes, that is point 9 but it is a loss!

We have one more WI before the Challenge is over. The weeks are flying by! Here is your total Weight and Points so far.

We have lost a total of 54 lbs so far! Ruthann is our Leader right now but somebody could go ahead of her this last week.

We are 11 weeks in and I can still give you another reason to drop 5% of your weight!

Bring Down Inflammation
Fat cells, especially those around the belly, can release chemicals that irritate and inflame tissues all over the body. This is linked to health problems like arthritis, heart disease, heart attack, and stroke. Work toward a 5% weight loss goal, and you can lower the amount of these substances and cut your chances of having a serious illness.

Next week will be our final weigh in. Our summary will be listed in the order of weight loss.
As always, the last week of our challenge I challenge our group to have a NO GAIN week.
So go out and push yourself this week and I wish us all a good week.

I managed to eek out a small loss but it was harder than usual. I see carbs in every room but the bathroom and my bedroom and it is getting harder to resist it. Still lots of stress here. Need to figure out something to cook for week. Work has been full capacity.

I've had a bad week, I've done some exercise but not as much as I would want to. Eating has been poor, an occasional day that wasn't too bad. So I'm up.

I've done 20000 steps today so that should help (including some lifting).
aiming for a better week next week and I certainly wont meet my 10% but the challenge has meant I've tried to get back on track

Congrats to Joyce, WG, and anyone pleased with todayís weigh-in. emoticon

I know my food intake led to my gain, not terrible food but too much of it. We leave Tuesday in the RV for southern CA, and next Saturday will be meeting family at Disneyland. Iíll probably post my weight Friday and plan lots of salads for the trip.

Yippeee! Down another 2.2# but with only 1 week left I don't think I'll reach my 5%. Too many gains to offset the losses. I limped my way through 668 minutes and 71,518 steps last week. The foot seems to be doing a little better. Did a few yoga chair exercises and stretching. Another good week of mindful eating with lots of salads and fruits.

Only 1 more challenge week!

Hi. I was happy to have another loss today. I even had some garlic bread yesterday! I've been careful and will need to continue. It has been easier when I'm not preparing meals for someone else and only have myself to feed.

I also didn't eat out this week although I wanted to. I am doing takeout today with my daughters, but will be careful tomorrow.

I didn't snack as much this week which helped me.

SS, I'm sorry you didn't lose.

Heather, I agree that your gain wasn't entirely calories. I love bread but have the same problems when I am not very careful. I think that is part of the "forbidden fruit" and when we start eating it again it is harder to stop.

SEK, congrats on your loss.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

Phooey, I gained. I think part of my problem is that I let down my guard on the weekends, and have to get back into gear the rest of the week.

Still cold and raining here. The only benefit seems to be that the grass is still green. Of course, DH hadn't been planning on mowing more than once more, and it looks like he may have several more cuttings. emoticon

My best to you all!

My weight stayed the same this morning! No loss but no gain either!

Heather - I am so sorry for you and your gain! The definite down side of eating low carb! When you start again you have a pretty bad water weight gain. In order to gain 7.6 lbs of fat, you would have to eat an add'l 3500 calories a day! I think not!!!

Peggy - clean sheets and a crisp morning! It must be fall.

Mary - most of us do better with a weight loss partner. I'm sure your friend will bring you new motivation.

My weigh in this morning is emoticon emoticon emoticon
UP emoticon emoticon emoticon a whopping 7.6 Lbs!

I have been indulging in * my beloved * bread BIG time having some at several meals every day!
As you can see.....it is my nemesis! And I know that! When I stay away from the bread plus the other well known carbs.....I lose!
When I indulge....I gain!

As simple as that!

It has been a real bad few weeks for me and with all of it.....I just threw in the towel!! BUT I have not given up ......NOT on your life!

Mary.....you had a small gain but you are doing fantastic Pal!
Sharon.....don't throw the towel in like me....keep that 5% off! When do you see the doctor?

I have a day off from visiting Mary because she is going to have a lot of company today.

Good Morning to all!

Well...I am going to have to use my wws weight...my scales at home....LOL...need new batteries....so...I am up. I vow ...next week will be a loss.

A good friend of mine joined weight watchers the other day...online and this am will be her first meeting. I am actually excited for her...and...I guess as a crutch...this will help me too. I ...like Heather seem to need a new mindset. She wants to lose a good amount by next September...and ...wishes to do the Brooksie Way....she needs to lose it...or cannot ...so that is good motivation for me! I want to be at goal...and truly FIT and TRIM by then as well. I have lacked so much.

So....I have learned a lot. I have. I have always fought to be able to do this on my own...and...somehow....the bottom line...I have to have a PAL...type person...to do this with. Sounds pathetic.....I should be enough...but not. I need to get on a roll again...then...I can ..by myself.

I am truly wishing all a good weigh in this am.

Hi everyone. I ate well yesterday and am creeping down a little at a time. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I have been working hard at having healthier meals and sitting down at them. Snacking at night has decreased also although i do enjoy that a lot.

Sharon, glad you got to sleep in after your hard night before. It is great that you reached your 5%. That is a good thing for you to do. I still need to do 10% but it will take a bit longer than the time left so I'll deal with that a % at a time. I'm hoping to be close to the 5% but probably won't quite make it.

Heather, I'm sure when you get back to your regular diet that the water weight (it almost always is from retention when you gain that fast) will drop when you get back on plan and eat better. That has to be painful, though.

Arlene, I'd love new shelves in my sewing room. I don't have a "craft" area any more as I have given up many of the things I did before although I do knit and crochet as well as sew. It isn't hard to keep all those things in the same place.

Judy, hope your life settles down a bit. Sounds like you have been busy.

Have a great day and a wonderful weigh in tomorrow.

Exercise has been good ó food not so much! I understand not wanting to think about it Heather. emoticon

I decided to focus on strength training this week, using light weights, in addition to the PT Iím doing for my hip. I also took my measurements for the first time in months. Hoping I can up my motivation.

Pete asked me to make the turkey meatballs adapted from a recipe Heather posted, and I doubled the recipe to have plenty to freeze. He used to buy frozen processed beef meatballs to have on hand, but the turkey ones are so much healthier and he likes them.

I have NOT given up totally but have taken a hiatus from even thinking about it all. Just cannot wrap my head around everything that is going on around me right now.

Norm went to the VA this morning about hearing aides so Nala and I slept in until 8:15! I had my meal replacement bar for breakfast. Today we are sharing a steak for dinner. It will be our last grilling for the year. Norm can clean the grill and put it in storage until spring.

It sure feels like a nice crisp fall day. We have sunshine for the first time in about a week. It is only getting in the 50's today so fall has definitely arrived.

I have a loss so far so I just have to keep working on it. I had a .2# gain this mornig at TOPS even though I had a loss at home ... first weigh in with heavier clothes for the colder weather. So now I have to keep working to continue.

I spent the afternoon trying to rearrange my craft/computer room. I've given Darrell a challenge, I want some shelves built for my craft things. I want something simple but I know my husband, it won't be simple.

We're supposed to be getting a bit of a warm up so that means get out and clean stuff up.
Later,

Here I am!!!

I've been going over to visit Mary and the Archives Monday and today.

I stopped in my friend Beverly's for coffee after the Archives and before we went up for Adin's game.

It was 50 degrees and raining the whole time we watched the game. It was 0-0 after 80 minutes of riding up and down the field. Then they played 2 ten minute overtimes.

It ended up 0-0.

They were slipping and sliding and landing in the cold puddles.

Tomorrow morning I'm going grocery shopping and then out shopping with my friend Kathy and then over to visit Mary.

I have been running all over the place.
