My husband and I wrote them out. We followed the advice of Dave Ramsey and made them in 7 areas and followed the 5 following rules.

1. make it about you
2. set a time limit
3. write it down
4. make is measurable
5. be specific

it was great advice because I was much more detailed in my goals. For my physical goals I want to be under 200 by April 1st AT THE LATEST...get to the core of my eating habits....no sugar on weekdays...run or walk a 5k. Those are just a few...

I keep making resolutions but never complete them...so my resolution is simply this:

Just Do IT!

Fitness is my number one goal...everything else will fall into place. I also want to stop my emotional eating...enough of that! emoticon

Focusing on fitness minutes and not the scale! Just me and my fitbit/smartwatch. I bought a new fitbit!

I plan to lose 40 pounds this year by staying in the MOMENT and making healthy choices.
I will exercise atleast 3 times a week.(hopefully more)
I will stay within my calorie range.
I chose my focus word of the year to be MOMENT. I want to be present in the moments. Not looking ahead or dreaming about what could be. Each moment is a precious gift. I want to enjoy all that life offers.
I want to extend encouragement and kindness to all that I can.
These are my thoughts this New Years morning. I hope you share yours.
