Saturday is generally my "rest" day because I work all day. But yesterday, I rode my bike to work! 15 minutes (downhillish) to get there, 25 to get home--energizing rather than depleting.

Today I just walked places I had to go. May not fire up the Wii all weekend, and I'm okay with that. The weather is begging me to be outside. Yesterday we officially opened the friends' backyard pool. Outdoor water is my favorite place in the world. Pool, pond, lake--it's all good with sunshine and a breeze.

Tonight I'll be walking the equivalent of a mile or two as I volunteer at our church book fair. So, to track my activity accurately I'm wearing my SlimCoach MYTRAK Pedometer to record my steps and my Polar Heart Monitor to track my Heart Activity Minutes.

So, for today I logged 12,763 steps. I blew away my daily goal of 10,000 or more steps!!
That's the equivalent of 5.4 miles in steps. Boy am I exhausted!

Me, too, SocDirector! Thursday and Friday have been my favorite kind of weather--crisp, cool, but warm in the sun and the bright blue sky reflecting in Lake Erie. So my aerobic exercise was outside both days--58 minutes on Thursday and only 38 today (but I'm about to hang laundry outside to dry)

So I did both Strength and Yoga today with my Wii, who chided me for missing yesterday...

Yoga: Warrior--93; Chair--56; Sun Salutation--96; Grounded V--82; and Cobra

Strength:--Single Leg Ext--59; Torso Twist--86; Side Lunge--100; Plank--94; and Sideways Leg Lift--74.

And Snowball Fight, just to keep in shape.

WOW! You are all doing great!

For the newest member of the Challenger Chicks, DETERMINEDJANET is amazing me with her accomplishments.

I wish I had more time to put in to a complete workout tonight.

BUT...
I did do another Kettlebell Training session first thing this morning.

30 min with 10lb Kettlebell (420 swings--which I'm tracking for the Kettlebell SparkTeam)
So, that session counts as EXTRA for today.

Tomorrow I plan to get up early with MDH and do my Thurs and Fri Wii Fit Plus in the same session.

My fave trainer is the male for strength and female for yoga. The male seems more relaxed when giving instructions than the female. I don't like it when they change instructors on me -- I'm a creature of habit. LOL

MON
Wii Fit Age: 29 (real age: 43)

Halfmoon: 86pts, 88pts
Warrior: 92, 96
Tree: 67, 48 - Balancing on one leg really hurts my foot arches and inner left knee.
Downward-facing dog: 68, 74, 84 (higher score if i keep my feet together, not apart, and tip toe so weight is distributed forward more. Yes, I did this 3x hoping to be able to stay in the given colored area without having to be on tiptoe, but no such luck!)
Spine extension: 87, 92

Free Step: 30 mins (Fastest pace allowed. Done while watching "The Bachelorette" on tv. Compared to basic and advanced step, I think free step is boring if I wasn't multitasking.)

Did this first thing today to avoid being interupted. It worked! I even got in some much needed back therapy.

STRENGTH:

Thanks for the SparkGoodie and shout out! This Challenge came just in time for me as I was getting discouraged (again) in not getting any results or breakthrough. However I refuse to stop doing what I am doing because I KNOW the benefits are more than just a smaller pant size... although - let's be honest - that would be so nice! I am determined to mix it up and continue to stay active - trusting that I will find some magic moment when my body lines up and starts losing once again! Anyway - thanks... this has been fun and challenging enough to keep me focused and moving forward!

My Wii Fit Plus personality of choice is the female trainer.

But the system has been known to substitute the guy. Once during Yoga session for just one exercise. He announced that he was "just filling in. I hope that's okay with you."

NOTE: This is the 5th week of challenges and everyone's doing fantastic! New members always welcome!

The exercises are kept at a basic level so it's fun for everyone. We are gradually adding to our workouts, but you have the choice to keep it at a level most suitable for you.

Yoga: You can stay with one set of yoga poses or increase to two sets.
Aerobics: If you do non-Wii Fit Plus exercises such as walking outdoors, biking, etc., you can list the minutes/miles in the Extra section.


Fun Q. Do you have a preference as to your personal Wii Fit Trainer? Do you like the male or female more, or do you not even notice which one you had chosen?
