I was in this group a year ago. I have been on Spark People 18 months and have not lost any more weight in the 13 months. I have lost 40 pounds & want to lose 15 more pounds. Friday I start the Fall 5% challenge on the firecrackers team, no choice of teams but openings still available.

Virus created an all out medical response and ambulance transport to hospital for 5 days. Thought I was dying from heart attack. Released and home. Slowly recovering from residual physical trauma. But, I will be back.

Virus is breaking by going into my chest. Still slowed. Tried to start home work outs but I am just too tired! I'll return. One good thing is happening. The strained muscle in my right knee and right hip is getting better. Take the stairs pretty good. Maybe the rest is what I needed! emoticon

This morning I just noticed your separate thread for walking. emoticon

It is the only exercise I do but I post it with the motivation folks who are challenging themselves with whatever they choose, and mine is to walk and watch what I eat.

WIN FINE TUNING CHALLENGE 2016 means WINTER, not win as in a contest with others. [My bad picking it before realizing the challenge conflict is in the in the word and nowhere else!]

Keep walking! I love it in the colder temps so long as there is no ice, so I am pleased with what I get to do.

Thursday I did a 1 1/2 hour snow shoe trek..yesterday only yoga..a 2 mile indoor walk..so far..hoping to get outside later..brr ..cold out there!

I have read if you can walk 3 or more miles a day, you burn twice the calories. So I make sure I'm on the streets for several miles. It is paying off. Good job

Walked 20 minutes at home. Did 4 loads of laundry and felt worn out. I usually do 1 load every other day or so, but I got behind, this week, I found out that you use up about 60 calories doing laundry for 15 minutes.

I am a walker too. I ran in high school, yes that wasn't before the invention of cars. In hot summertime in Mesa, Arizona I am at LA Fitness on the treadmill and elipical. Now I am putting over 5 miles a day walking. emoticon

walking IS the first and most encouraged of any exercise I DO

I use a fitbit and I try to increase my efforts to certain levels when I have backed off for any reason.

It's hard to build back up. But my breath, disposition and entire health can depend upon it.

I enter my daily team contributions in the ENCOURAGEMENT and MOTIVATION thread:
SUM FINE TUNE CHALLENGE 2015 for now.

Once 2016 comes we may start a new thread but the challenge is always the same: To determine for ourselves what we challenge for ourselves and to then keep encouraged by posting on our challenge thread.

Others may decide to challenge themselves in other ways but
I am a walker.

Since the weather is cooler than Arizona summer heat, it's nice to get out and walk the neighborhood. During the summer. I'm at the gym on a treadmill, etc . So for now. I'm a walkin.

I love to walk every day. Sometimes three different times. Early in the morning, because my dog, Major needs to go out. He sleep next to me and when I start to stir he is awake and expects me to get up and so we get up and go go go. Then in the mid-morning is my 3 mile walk with Major. Finally before it gets dark (around 5:30) we go once again to be ready to sleep. I probably put in 5 miles a day, and I mean everyday, even on Sunday, which I don't do anything except give it to the Lord.
