NSV this week is wearing an ankle bracelet that used to only fit my wrist! Now it is way to big for my wrist but perfect for ankle!

My NSV for this week is that I am starting to be able to do more with less pain. I haven't lost much weight yet, so I am contributing this to the fact that for the most part I am now feeding my body right, which I definitely was NOT before.

Another NSV - I met my step goal all but one day this week, a deliberate rest day. For once my smart watch isn't nagging me to lower my goal!

Today went to the gym instead of my Friday routine of breakfast tacos and sweet tea. Then on Tuesday we had rodeo breakfast at work and all I had was the water that I brought with me. Might not mean much to most people but these were 2 major things in my life. emoticon

I am so glad I found this thread! I am trying to focus on NSVs instead of hard and fast rules about things I HAVE to do or not do. Today:
1) Brought a bottle of water on my morning commute so I didn't stop for coffee and a bagel.
2) Went for a walk when I wanted to take a nap at lunch.
3) Did NOT get an Almond Joy at Dollar General when I stopped for cards
4) Had a cup of hot chocolate instead of bingeing on pizza.

I have only one NSV this week...I got up everyday and tried to do work around the house. When depression hits me all I want to do is stay in bed and sleep.

I had a huge NSV over our week-long vacation...I managed to walk over 12,000+ steps! With my knee problem it was not an easy thing to do. I had to sit quite often as we walked all around the Rainforest, Aquarium, and two trips down to the paddlewheel boat dock. I barely get in 1,000 per day here at home, so I am proud of myself.

What a great motivator reading all of your posts is. Congrats on the achievements and thank you all for the courage it takes to share. For the first time I think I actually 'believe' I might just be successful this time. Something that has been absent in my earlier efforts. Learning to break the struggle down into achievable smaller goals over time has really helped in my thought process.

I actually got some exercise today for the first time in over 3 years. I used to work out at the gym 1-2 hours a day and was shocked at how little I could I do today. One short cardio video was my limit. I suppose you manage to fool yourself thinking that things aren't as bad as they are; the same way I gained 100 pounds and kept telling myself I hadn't gained that much weight. One day you wake up and realize you have totally let yourself go. I'm encouraged that I started here and am on the right track. Even just one short burst exercise was enough to motivate me and make me realize how much I missed it. I'm proud that I finally, after I don't know how long of thinking I would start exercising, that I finally did.

My family and I are getting outdoors to hike. Some of the terrain is challenging for me at my weight so I ordered hiking poles and I am looking forward to learning how to use them this weekend. Last weekend I wore my new hiking boots for the first time and experienced greater confidence on the varied surfaces. Between hikes I am regularly walking on the treadmill. Consistency is something I have to work at. So far it has been three weeks of regular walking! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am on the same boat. I love the chair exercises. Coach Nichole on this site has some good ones also. Any kind of movement is good. When I do my workouts my knees feel so much better. If I go a few days without my workouts my knees are so very painful and the left one just randomly wants to give out. Take small steps, we will get there.

Okay. I'm a dork. I am having a terrible time writing on these boards.

I am 59 and morbidly obese. I have advanced osteoarthritis. It really limits me.

I really need to get moving. I didn't realize that my sedentary lifestyle was wasting my muscle away. My starting goals are small.

We have a gym membership but I hurt myself really bad the other day, trying to figure out how to ride the bikes. We are going back tomorrow and I plan on using only the treadmill.

Hubby found a u tube video for chair exercises for the morbidly obese that I would like to use every other day. We haven't used it since Thursday, but I need to remember to poke him about it. Also, I need to go to u tube and find it for myself so that I can get moving. Using the video made my arthritic shoulder feel better. Isn't that weird?

The last thing is that I am going to try and attend more Overeaters Anonymous meetings online. Has anyone else tried them?

I am really looking forward to meeting all of you!

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.

Fantastic job losing the weight. I did two walks today, one longer one for a minute longer, for 14 minutes and one shorter one, for one minute longer than my minimum for 11 minutes. Finding it tough to walk at 258 pounds so starting out with 25 minutes of walking a day total plus usually one grocery shopping trip or walking errand out. Calorie goal is 1630 calories a day, which leaves me with low energy in the mornings until I have eaten a bit more food in the day.

On the diet Extreme Transformation and carb cycling, with additional emphasis on increasing fiber grams to 35 g/daily and lowering fat grams daily.

In Feb.2015, I struggled walking from the kitchen to the living room.I was wearing a 5XL shirt. My health was really bad.Seven months later I'm walking on the average 5+ miles per day.I now wear an XL shirt. My health has improved a great deal in that seven month period.Summer 2016 I will have met my goal and will never again be overweight.

What non-scale victories have you had recently?

I'm down over two sizes in clothes. People where I work out (and other places) have noticed that I am losing (not close to where I need to be but making good progress).
